St. Mary’s University College (Calgary) Granted ACAC Membership Status
EDMONTON – St. Mary’s University College (Calgary) has been officially accepted as a probationary member of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC). The decision came by vote at the ACAC’s Annual General Meeting held last week in Medicine Hat.
The "Lightning" will begin a three-year term as probationary members, effective
July 2012, and will begin athletic competition in women's and men's basketball in the fall of 2012. St. Mary’ will make application to the Canadian Colleges Athletic Conference (CCAA) prior to that time.
Edmonton’s Concordia University College of Alberta Enters ACAC Volleyball This Fall
EDMONTON - At the same meeting, Concordia University College of Alberta was accepted for participation in Women’s and Men’s Volleyball commencing September, 2010. Concordia currently participates in badminton, basketball, cross-country running, curling, golf, men’s ice hockey and soccer and most recently captured the Gold Medal in the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association Women’s Soccer Nationals.
