Trish Arends
Concordia University College of Alberta Women's Soccer Fifth year goalkeeper Trish Arends is breaking ACAC records this season with two shutouts and wins this past weekend. Trish is now the ACAC Career Leader in Shut-outs with 30. This past weekend she blew by another record with two more shut-outs and is now the ACAC Career Wins Leader with 34 wins. Trish is not only a great Goaltender, but she is also a great leader. “Trish’s encouragement and instruction to her teammates on the field and her positivity off make her the perfect captain for the team,” said Trish’s Coach, Dean Cordeiro. “We are so proud of her for breaking these records and look forward to seeing how much further she can go before this season ends.” Trish is from Spruce Grove, AB, and in the Bachelor of Arts program. |
Kevin Torres
Olds College Men's Soccer Kevin Torres was named player of the game, scored first hat trick ever in Olds soccer history, and did it against the undefeated SAIT Trojans. He single handedly doubled the Trojans goals against for the season! Kevin is a leader on the field not only in games but in training sessions as well. He brings knowledge, passion and intensity to every game and training session and elevates his teammates around him to a higher level. Kevin is working towards a Sport Management diploma, with the intention of continuing to use his passion and knowledge post education to own and operate his own soccer school/academy. Congratulations on being named Athlete of the Week. |
