In a preseason exhibition tournament, Kari Kubinec led the team in steals with a total of more than 13 steals for the weekend.  Her defense was outstanding and she contributed with more than 25 rebounds and 35 points throughout the weekend.  She helped lead the team to three wins against NAIT (78-60), Olds (83-55) and Kings (74-44).

Gradyn Childerhose led the way for the Briercrest College Men’s Basketball team at the CMU Tournament as they went 1-2 against some very strong opponents. One of Briercrest’s captains Gradyn led the way for the team in several facets over the weekend. Returning to Briercrest after a year playing for the University of Regina, Gradyn was a rock inside with 87 points and 28 rebounds over the weekend, which included very competitive games against the University of Manitoba (95-86 for U of M) and University of Winnipeg (93-75 for U of W). 

Gradyn is from Outlook, Saskatchewan and playing his last year of eligibility at Briercrest College working towards a Bachelor of Arts Humanities degree.
