Jodi Sanguin ran like the wind . . . and wrapped up a second straight conference cross-country running title on Saturday afternoon. Sanguin, a fifth-year athlete with the Red Deer College Queens, ran away from the competition at Calgary’s Canmore Park, claiming the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference’s (ACAC) individual women’s cross-country crown with more than half a minute to spare. Sanguin finished the five-kilometre course in 19 minutes and 16 seconds, a full 40 seconds faster than the second-place Marriya Jenkins of the Concordia. Sanguin also led RDC to victory in the ACAC women’s team championship and was named on the All-Conference Women's Team.

Jodi is a fifth year student taking her Bachelor of Science program in Nursing at Red Deer College.

Kautz was a dominant factor on offence and on defense in both the Ook’s 1-0 semi-final victory over Red Deer College and in the final. “Laura was outstanding all weekend for us,” said Head Coach Sergio Teixeira. “Sunday’s final was one of the best games I have seen her play and she has played a lot of great game for our team.” Laura will now lead her team at the CCAA Nationals in Quebec City November 9th – 13th.

This race will be remembered as one of the closest battles for an ACAC gold we have seen for some time!

Peter won the overall Grand Prix series this season with a perfect record of 5 wins. He will also be part of the ACAC provincial team at the CCAA National Cross Running Championships in Kamloops, November 10-11.
