NORTHERN IRELAND — Former SAIT Trojans hockey player Adam Knight donated his # 9 red SAIT jersey to Rockies Sports Bar in Ireland.
Knight who currently plays pro hockey with the Hull Stingrays in the UK's Elite League was in town to play the Belfast Giants, and stopped by Rockies. Knight hails from 100 Mile House in British Columbia and played four seasons with the SAIT Trojans from 2004-2008 while he was studying to be an architect. He served as an assistant captain for two years and his versatility allowed him to play forward and on the back end on the ice.
The 6’2” defensemen joined the Hull Stingrays at the beginning of the 2009-10 season. The Stingrays compete in the EIHL and is the highest level of ice hockey competition in the United Kingdom. Knight was nominated for Elite Overseas All-stars Defensemen, and was the runner up.
Jim Graves, owner of Rockies Sports Bar, opened his business up two and a half years ago which has gained a solid reputation as one of the top hockey bars in Europe. Rockies is also well known as a Canadian Sports Bar with jerseys being displayed by no fewer than 50 Canadian Universities plus over 200 jerseys on display from Canadian Junior Hockey to Australian Rugby Teams.
