2011-12 Athletes of the Year
Jodi Sanguin
Red Deer College The ACAC is pleased to announce Jodi Sanguin of Red Deer College, as the 2011-2012 ACAC Female Athlete of the Year.Jodi's achievements this past year include individual Golds at the CCAA National Championship and ACAC Cross-Country Running Championship, first place finishes in three Grand Prix events, and helping her team to a CCAA bronze and ACAC gold. She also recognized by the City of Red Deer as the Athlete of the Year at the Sport Council of Red Deer banquet and achieved RDC Academic Excellance Award in 2010-11. Within the community, Jodi coaches track athletes at Notre Dame High School. |
Colton deMan
Mount Royal University The ACAC is pleased to announce Colton deMan of Mount Royal University, as the 2011-2012 ACAC Male Athlete of the Year. Colton was named CCAA All-Canadian and CCAA First Team All-Star at the CCAA Volleyball Championship. He was first in kills with 301 kills in 77 sets averaging 3.9 kills per set in regular season play. Colton led MRU men's volleyball team to an ACAC Gold medal and CCAA Bronze medal. Off the court, Colton is heavily involved in the Cougars community service programs - the “C” is for Cougars reading program and the Cougars on the Court physical education program. |
