2010 CCAA Badminton Nationals at NAIT

2010 Badminton Coach of the Year - Lam Trinh
The Canadian Colleges Athletic Association is pleased to name
Lam Trinh from Humber College as the winner of the 2010 CCAA Badminton Coach of the Year.
Lam, who has been a vital part of Humber’s badminton program for a number of years took on the role as Co-Head Coach this year to bring the program to a new level.  Successful recruiting and Lam’s technical expertise has been a valuable tool in the growth of the Hawks squad.  A full-time employee at Humber College, Trinh ensures that his student-athletes are successful in the classroom as well as on the court.
 
2010 Men’s Badminton Player of the Year - Alvin Lau
 
Fifth year veteran, Alvin Lau has been named Canadian Colleges Athletic Association Men’s Badminton Player of the Year for a second consecutive year.

Lau has had an impressive season thus far going 31-2, capturing five titles; three Mixed Doubles and two Men’s Doubles.  Lau, in his fifth and final year for the Royals, looks to add another CCAA Gold medal to his collection, previously earning National titles in Mixed Doubles(3) and Men’s Doubles(1).

2010 Women’s Badminton Player of the Year - Rui Lin Huang

Rui Lin Huang, from Douglas College has been named Canadian Colleges Athletic Association Women’s Badminton Player of the Year for a second consecutive year.

A second year player with the Douglas College Royals, Rui Lin (Lynn), continues to totally dominate her field in the BCCAA. This season she has recorded 31-0 while capturing six titles; 2 women’s singles, 2 women’s doubles, 2 mixed doubles.  Her impressive career statistics within the BCCAA and CCAA (2008-2010) is 67 wins – 0 losses!
