08/26/2010 ... Lloydminster - Peter Sambu has returned to Lakeland College as Head Men’s Basketball Coach. Coach Sambu brings with him varied experience from High School to Pro Basketball. For the 2009-10 season, Sambu was the Head Coach for the Women’s Basketball team at the King’s University College in Edmonton, Alberta leading the team to a 25-15 overall record and an 18-6 Conference record.

MacEwan Griffins Athletics is pleased to announce Teresa Wallsten has been named one of 20 women accepted into the 2010-11 CCAA Female Apprentice Coach Program. Funded by Sport Canada, this program is run through the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) with the objective of providing an avenue for graduated female student-athletes to become involved in coaching at the national level, mentoring under a qualified head coach.
