Cora Sutton goes back-to-back with ACAC Women’s Hockey Top Scholastic Achiever Award

Calgary, AB (March 24, 2017) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Cora Sutton of the SAIT Trojans has been selected as the 2016-17 ACAC Women's Hockey Top Scholastic Achiever.

Sutton finished the first semester with a 3.87 GPA in her Architectural Technologies program, and is coming off a season where she was named to the All-Conference Second Team for the fourth-straight season. On the ice, she captained the Trojans to an ACAC silver medal in her fifth and final season of post-secondary athletics.

"Cora excels at anything she puts her mind to, and that is because of a work ethic that is second to none," said Terry Larson, SAIT Trojans women's hockey head coach. "She has not only captained our team the past three seasons, but has set an example of what all future SAIT Trojans student-athletes should aspire to be like with her success on the ice, in the classroom and in the community."

This is the second consecutive Top Scholastic Achiever Award given to Sutton, making her the first woman ever to win the award twice since it was first handed out in 2007-08 season.
